This is a 2 day guided walk through the breathtaking dune-landscape of the Kalahari with 2 nights spent at Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge and 1 night in a luxury tented camp.
Day 1: Windhoek
Arrival in Windhoek where your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. City tour and overnight.
Day 2: Kalahari Desert
Spend the morning in Windhoek to do a short City tour and visit shopping and arts and crafts malls. Depart after an early lunch to the Kalahari. This is about 2 hours drive. Arrive early afternoon at Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge on a private game reserve in the dunes. Check-in and relax. Do an afternoon sundowner drive in an open-sided 4x4 vehicle into the dunes to see the breathtaking dune landscape and wildlife. Return for a Dune Dinner, specially arranged in the dunes for you. Overnight.
Day 3: Kalahari Desert
Full-day walk with picnic brunch en route. Early departure to be able to watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee from the top of a dune. The day's walk leads through the typical red Kalahari Dunes crossed by tree savannahs with the possibility of watching various wildlife species at close range. Overnight at a luxury tented camp (Barbeque, Bed & Bush Breakfast)
Day 4: Kalahari Desert - Windhoek
Half day guide walks with a visit to the "Devil's Claw" Project. After breakfast, the walk continues with a first stop at the Devil's Claw Project, where this endangered desert plant is being scientifically cultivated. Thereafter the walk leads through grass and bush savanna and there is a good possibility to see impala, black wildebeest, and nyala.
After approximately 3 hours you will arrive back at Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge. Relax after a nice shower or swim and enjoy lunch. Depart to Windhoek to arrive early afternoon from where you can depart on any other tour of your choice which is available on request at CrissCross Namibia Safaris.
Additional Information:
1. Participants: Minimum 2 people: Maximum 8 people
2. Guide: English and German Speaking
3. Drinking Water: Cold bottled water will be provided during the walk.
4. Please Note: Participants are required to carry their own personal luggage needed for the day out, i.e. photo equipment, binoculars, etc. Overnight luggage will be transferred by vehicle by us.
5. Accommodation in Kalahari: 1 night at Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge: Luxury Chalet on a full board basis (all meals included) and 1-night camping in luxury tents (all meals included on full board)
