Day 1: AVANI Windhoek Hotel & Casino, Windhoek

About Windhoek

Situated in Central Namibia, the cosmopolitan city of Windhoek serves as the capital of the country. It is home to an international airport and a plethora of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues, and accommodation options.

The city is clean, safe, and well-organised, with a colonial legacy reflected in its many German eateries and shops, as well as the widespread use of the German language. Windhoek features an interesting mix of historical architecture and modern buildings, many of which are worth visiting, including the Alte Feste (an old fort), the 1896 Christuskirche (Christ Church), and the more contemporary Supreme Court.

Day Itinerary:

Once you have landed in Windhoek, collected your luggage, and passed through passport control, our representative will meet you and go through the itinerary with you. He/She will provide a detailed briefing and safety talk before assisting you in collecting your rental vehicle.

After collecting your vehicle, you will proceed to your booked accommodation. Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing after your long flight or explore some of the city’s attractions, such as the Tintenpalast (House of Parliament), Christ Church, the Namibia Craft Centre with its local artwork, or take a stroll along Independence Avenue.

For dinner, you may visit one of Windhoek’s excellent restaurants (payable directly).

Day 2: Namib Desert Lodge, Gondwana Collection Namibia, Solitaire

About Solitaire

Situated in the Khomas Region of Central Namibia, the desert town of Solitaire serves as an oasis in the Namib Desert. It is an important stop for travellers heading to Sossusvlei, offering supplies and a chance to rest. Solitaire is also known for its famous apple pie, said to be the best in the country.

Day Itinerary:

After breakfast, your journey continues via Mariental and Maltahöhe towards Sesriem. Your destination is Namib Desert Lodge, which serves as a base for exploring the iconic dunes of Sossusvlei.

Relax at the pool or on your terrace and enjoy the peaceful desert surroundings.

Day 3: Namib Desert Lodge, Gondwana Collection Namibia, Solitaire

Day Itinerary:

An early start is required today. Enter the Namib-Naukluft National Park at sunrise. Highlights include Dune 45, Deadvlei, and Sesriem Canyon.

Dune 45 is popular for sunrise hikes due to its accessibility and striking red sands. Deadvlei offers a surreal landscape of ancient camel thorn trees set against white clay and red dunes.

These locations together provide a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and tranquillity of the Namib Desert.

Day 4: The Delight Swakopmund Gondwana Collection Namibia, Swakopmund

About Swakopmund

Located along Namibia’s scenic coastline, Swakopmund is known for its colonial architecture, wide avenues, and surrounding desert landscapes. Founded in 1892, it retains strong German influences and is now a popular seaside resort.

Day Itinerary:

Travel along gravel roads to Swakopmund. The town reflects German colonial heritage in its architecture and cuisine. It also serves as a hub for adventure activities such as desert tours, dune boarding, and coastal excursions.

Enjoy a relaxing stroll through town and sample fresh seafood at local restaurants.

Day 5: The Delight Swakopmund Gondwana Collection Namibia, Swakopmund

Day Itinerary:

You may also explore the desert, take scenic flights, or visit museums and shopping areas.

About Twyfelfontein

Located in northwestern Namibia, Twyfelfontein is famous for its ancient rock engravings and UNESCO World Heritage status.

Day Itinerary:

After breakfast, travel inland past Brandberg Mountain, Namibia’s highest peak. Arrive at Damara Mopane Lodge and relax before optionally visiting the Twyfelfontein rock engravings in the afternoon.

Day 7: Etosha Safari Lodge, Gondwana Collection Namibia, Etosha South

About Etosha South

This region lies just south of Etosha National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations.

Day Itinerary:

Drive through Andersson Gate into Etosha National Park. Enjoy game viewing, spotting elephants, giraffes, lions, and other wildlife at waterholes.

Return to the lodge before sunset.

Overnight: Etosha Safari Lodge, Gondwana Collection, Namibia

Day 8: Etosha Safari Lodge, Gondwana Collection Namibia, Etosha South

Day Itinerary:

Spend the day exploring Etosha National Park. The park is centred around the Etosha Pan and is home to diverse wildlife, including four of the Big Five.

Game viewing is best around waterholes, where numerous species gather.

Day 9: Okapuka Safari Lodge, Gondwana Collection Namibia, Greater Windhoek

About Greater Windhoek

The surrounding region of Windhoek features scenic landscapes of mountains, valleys, and savannah.

Day Itinerary:

Travel south toward Windhoek. En route, stop at the Okahandja Craft Market for souvenirs such as wood carvings and handmade items.

Continue to your lodge on the outskirts of the city.

Overnight: Okapuka Safari Lodge, Gondwana Collection Namibia

Basis: Dinner, Bed and Breakfast

Day 10: End of Itinerary

Day Itinerary:

Today, return to Windhoek. If time permits, visit the Namibia Craft Centre for last-minute shopping before heading to the airport. Drop off your rental vehicle at the depot.
